Needles
Circular needles : 5 mm [US8] / 80 or 100 cm [30 or 40 in] 
Double pointed or circular 4 mm [US6] for the icord straps

Gauge
13 stitches x 26 rounds = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 5 mm [US8] needles after blocking
Make sure to swatch in the round, as your gauge may vary significantly from knitting flat.
